Terms of Service

Effective 5 October 2026 · version 2026-10-05

1. Who we are

e2e8 (e2e8.app) is run by Iaroslav Kit, Port Saplaya, 46120 Alboraya (Valencia), Spain. Contact: privacy@e2e8.app. By using e2e8 you agree to these terms. How we handle personal data is in our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use e2e8

Anyone can use the tools that need no account. To create an account you must be at least 16 years old if you live in the EU or EEA, and at least 13 elsewhere, and have a parent's permission where the law of your country requires it at your age.

3. The service

  • The chess tools are free. Many work without an account; an account lets e2e8 keep your ratings, history, streaks and progress.
  • There are no paid features for players. Coaching features for coaches are a separate product with their own terms when they launch.
  • We improve e2e8 continually, so features can change, move or be withdrawn. We try to tell you before something you rely on goes away.

4. Your account

  • Use an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password to yourself.
  • One person per account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

5. Using e2e8 fairly

Please do not:

  • scrape e2e8, or access it automatically beyond normal use of the website;
  • use our servers as a way around the limits of other services, including Lichess and Chess.com;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the service, or access other people's accounts or data;
  • upload content you have no right to share, or content that is illegal, hateful or harassing.

6. Playing on Lichess through our board

When you play Lichess games through e2e8, Lichess's own terms and fair-play rules apply to you. e2e8 offers no engine, opening book or other assistance during those games, and you must not use any. Lichess, not e2e8, decides what happens to your Lichess account. You can disconnect e2e8 from your Lichess account at any time.

7. Your content

Your games, analyses, repertoires and notes stay yours. You allow e2e8 to store and process them in order to provide the service: to show them to you, to your coach if you link one, and to anyone you send an analysis link to. Positions you analyse may be added, without anything that identifies you, to the shared evaluation cache that makes analysis faster for everyone.

8. Third-party content and open source

e2e8 includes master games from public records, Lichess's openly licensed puzzles and statistics, opening text from Wikibooks, and open-source chess engines. Each keeps its own licence; the full list, with credits and source links, is on our Licences & credits page.

9. No guarantees

Engine evaluations, move grades and explanations can be wrong. Ratings in e2e8 are our own estimates, not FIDE, Lichess or Chess.com ratings. We work to keep e2e8 available and your data safe, but we provide the service as it is, without promises that it will always be available, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

10. Liability

As far as the law allows, e2e8 is not liable for indirect losses or for loss of data, games or ratings caused by using the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

11. Suspension and ending

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it. You can stop using e2e8 and delete your account whenever you like.

12. Reporting illegal content

Report content you believe is illegal to privacy@e2e8.app, with a link and why. We look at every report.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Spain. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there.

14. Changes

When these terms change in substance, the version and date at the top change and we say at the top of this page what changed. For changes that reduce your rights we give notice before they take effect.
